Let Claude manage your Notion

9 months ago I didn't really use AI. Now it runs my workspace. Claude handles the updates. I focus on the actual work. Less admin, more creating. Here's how to set it up. No technical knowledge, no custom prompts, no code. You just need to know your database names.

Claude handles the updates. I focus on the actual work. Less admin, more creating.

Here's how to set it up. No technical knowledge, no custom prompts, no code. You just need to know your database names.

Connect Claude

Start by connecting Claude to your Notion workspace. In Claude, go to your profile and settings. Go to Connectors and search for Notion. Click Connect.

Follow along and you're connected in a few seconds.

Once connected, verify that Claude can actually read your workspace. Pick one database name and ask Claude to list what's in it, including the properties. This confirms the connection is working and that Claude has the right structure.

Start prompting

When that's verified you can start prompting. Claude will read the database, show you an output first and wait for your approval before making any changes.

The output looks like JSON. Don't worry about that. Just check that the properties and content look correct, then run the command.

Distill in Notion

Once Claude has added the content, head over to Notion to review it. One thing I learned early on: specify that Claude should use the page template in your database. That way the information lands in the right format from the start.

Conclusion

9 months ago I barely used AI. Now it runs my Notion workspace.

When an idea pops into my head, an experiment, a new project, an expense to log, I just talk to Claude. It updates the workspace. I go to Notion and distill it.

Less time on admin. More time on what actually matters.
